CHRISTIAN BREAKING NEWS: ⚖️🚨 TWICE ACQUITTED: The Supreme Court Trial of a Bible Verse [Oct 30, 2025]

She quoted Scripture — now she stands before Finland’s Supreme Court. This landmark case could decide whether sharing the Bible remains protected speech or becomes a punishable act.

Imagine being taken to the Supreme Court—twice acquitted, but still fighting for the right to quote the Bible. This is not fiction; it’s happening in Finland.
A parliamentarian and a bishop now stand before the Supreme Court, not for a crime of violence, but for posting and publishing material concerning their Christian faith.
This case is a landmark moment that could decide whether the right to express religious beliefs in public remains a protected freedom—or whether it can be legally classified as hate speech.
Stay with me—because the outcome could set a precedent for faith and freedom across Europe and around the world.

Meet Päivi Räsänen — a Finnish lawmaker, medical doctor, and outspoken Christian. In 2019, she posted a tweet to her church, citing a Bible passage regarding human sexuality.
For that, she was charged under Finland’s “agitation against a minority group” law.
She wasn’t the only one. A Lutheran bishop, Juhana Pohjola, was also charged for publishing Räsänen’s 2004 booklet explaining the traditional biblical view of marriage.
Two believers — standing trial together for articulating the historic Christian faith in Finland.
They have already faced two full trials. Both were unanimously acquitted — first by the District Court in 2022, then by the Court of Appeal in 2023. Each court ruled clearly: no crime, no hate, only lawful expression.
But prosecutors refused to stop. They appealed again, pushing the case all the way to Finland’s Supreme Court. Six years. Three courts. One fundamental question of rights.
Now, on October 30, 2025, Finland’s Supreme Court will hear the case — the final chapter in a six-year legal battle that could redefine what ‘freedom of speech’ and ‘freedom of religion’ mean across Europe.
Her defenders at ADF International warn:
“The central issue is not the theology, but whether peaceful, traditional religious expression can be criminalized under the guise of hate speech legislation.”
Through it all, Päivi Räsänen remains unshaken:
“I will continue to share the message of the Bible — whatever the cost.”
And as Scripture says in 2 Timothy 2:9 — “The Word of God cannot be chained.”
