Pastor Brian R. Weeks
January 21, 2025Obituary
REHOBOTH-“PB” Pastor Brian R. Weeks, 75, passed away on January 21, 2025, he was the loving husband of Donna L. (Fitton) Weeks.
Brian was born in Attleboro and was the son of the late Leonard F. Weeks and Phyllis E. (Horrocks) Weeks.
Brian’s charisma was palpable. You felt better just by his presence. He would tell you that is was the anointing. His love for people was unending and undeniable. His ability to relate and guide no matter the circumstance was certainly a gift. No matter the time or place, if you needed him, he would surely show up. He was genuine and selfless in every aspect of his life. Whether it was taking care of his family, friends, or anyone in need.
In his early days, he was quite an athlete. He loved football and was a linebacker throughout high school and college. He was named All American for 3 years in a row and was being scouted by the NFL. Instead, he declined leaving college with one semester left before graduation ” to go find out if God was real”. The rest is history.
At home, he was a master chef. Often preparing meals days in advance or freezing them so food was prepared while he was away on a mission trip. He would whip up a Turkey Dinner on a whim and show up at your doorstep with food in hand. He and his son shared this passion and would cook together weekly. We always joked about not eating out at restaurants because the food was so much better at home.
He was so many things to so many people. Many of his children’s friends affectionately referred to him as Papa Weeks. He was an incredible human. A husband, a father, a brother, a grandfather, an uncle, a friend, a pastor, a mentor, a leader, a visionary, a writer, a missionary, a lover of people and most of all Jesus.
Pastor Brian’s passion was to see lives transformed by the power and love of God. His strong desire is that God’s sons and daughters would not only discover their gifts and talents, but more importantly, comprehend how much God delights in them and how affectionately they are loved, knowing full well that they were created for a divine purpose. Pastor Brian’s prophetic ministry helped people grasp these realities and empowered them to take steps towards their tomorrows. One of his greatest joys was to see people delight in God’s presence and cherish their relationship with the Lord and His people.
The legacy he leaves behind is one that will carry on through his family, friends and the countless lives he has touched. He was an extraordinary man who lived each day with love, faith, hope, strength and resilience.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Joshua B. Weeks of Rehoboth and Crystal L. Weeks and her partner Adam R. Lass of Bristol, RI; siblings, Leonard S. Weeks and his wife Karen of Norton and Cherie A. Freedman of Taunton; grandson Boman W. Lass and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Pamela Linderman, Craig Weeks and Cheryl Kenniston.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend time of visitation on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10am-11:45pm in His Providence Church, 262 Swansea Mall Drive, Swansea, MA.
A service in celebration of Brian’s life will immediately follow at 12pm.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in Pastor Weeks’ memory to the Timao Center of Fall River, where he cared for the homeless. Or as he would say “extraordinary people in transition”. 371 Bay St., Fall River, MA 02724 https://timaocenter.com/
