A teacher at Shalom Christian Academy in Chambersburg is facing charges of having an illegal relationship with a student.
Bonnie Louise Gingrich was released on $50,000 unsecured bail after being charged with felony sexual contact with a student at a school, 2 felony counts of unlawful contact with a minor, and felony corruption of minors.
On May 30, Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) received a child line report of a teacher making inappropriate contact with a student at Shalom Christian Academy.
PSP believes that teacher was Bonnie Gingrich.
Troopers then interviewed the juvenile victim, who stated that the victim and Gingrich would “reach out to the victim via electronic messages,” which finally led to hugging.
According to troopers, this persisted and worsened, including physical contact and messages from Gingrich to the victim “about wanting to meet up with the victim outside of school”.
According to PSP records, this occurred between November 2023 and May 30, 2024.
During this time, troopers say Gingrich pushed the victim to create secret chat accounts and delete their messages out of fear of being found out.
Bonnie Gingrich is out on unsecured bail of $50,000.
