Stephen Emmett Houston, III, 5, was killed when he was hit by a car last week.
According to officials, Emmett was leaving his family’s farm and heading to his house across the street.
The family’s faith has kept them strong.
“We’re just doing the best we can and I can tell you we wouldn’t be doing anything at all if it weren’t for our strong faith in Jesus Christ,” Emmett’s father said. “He was strong, he was smart, and he was beautiful.”

The community has also rallied in support.
Emmett’s daycare has been making bows and putting them throughout town in his honor.
Emmett’s love of everything John Deere is reflected in the green and yellow colors of the bows.
Emmett’s father expresses gratitude for the community’s support, but has only one request in his time of need.

The Houston’s church family is also sharing their support. Emmett attended both First Baptist Church of Donalsonville and Grace Church in Bainbridge.
Anyone pick up free bows from Little Indians Daycare located on Town and Country Road in Donalsonville.
The day care is also taking donations to help the family.
