Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has urged young people to stay where God has divinely placed them rather than moving from one church to another.
Adeboye delivered the message during the June edition of the Holy Ghost Service, themed “Destined for Greatness (Part 2),” which took place in the early hours of Saturday, June 7, at the Redemption City of God in Ogun State, Nigeria.
He warned young Christians against the growing trend of jumping from one denomination to another, emphasizing the need of divine placement and spiritual stability.
“Discover where God wants you to stay, and stay there,” he advised.
Adeboye shared his personal experience, revealing that God warned him in a dream not to leave the RCCG, saying it could cost him the life of his firstborn.
He stated, “When I got born again, there were three major ministries that were making waves, and they were good. There were different temptations to go from one to another.
“But God said to me, ‘Son, I brought you here.'” This is where you’ll stay.
“The day you leave this denomination, your firstborn will die.”
Adeboye pointed out that at the time, RCCG was relatively unknown with its headquarters located in a modest building in Ebute-Metta, Lagos, Nigeria.
Despite being a university lecturer, he stated that he submitted to the leadership of his spiritual father, who had no formal education.
Adeboye stressed that his message did not seek to establish RCCG spiritual superiority over other churches, but rather to emphasize submission to the will of God.
