Bishop Ezra Sargunam, the Evangelical Church of India’s first national leader, passed away on Sunday, aged 86.
The burial will take place on September 26 in Chennai.
Bishop Ezra Sargunam was involved in campaigns to raise awareness among political figures about the issues that Scheduled Castes, minorities, and tribals face.
He was instrumental in the ordination of India’s first transgender pastor.
