In a second statement following US President Joe Biden’s announcement that Israel had proposed a three-phase ceasefire in Gaza in exchange for Hamas releasing hostages, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that there will be no permanent ceasefire in Gaza until Hamas’ military and governing capabilities have been destroyed.
