Today we come together with heavy hearts.
We mourn the devastating loss of Evangelist Alexander Wurm (53) and his daughter Serena Wurm (22) — who tragically died on November 10, 2025, when their small relief aircraft went down en route to Jamaica to deliver humanitarian aid following Hurricane Melissa.
According to multiple verified reports, the plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Florida, killing both father and daughter alongside two Jamaican humanitarian workers.
They were traveling on a mission trip — a journey of compassion — carrying essential supplies for communities affected by the storm.
Alexander was known throughout the Cayman Islands and the Caribbean for his warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to Christ.
He didn’t just preach the gospel — he lived it.
He prayed deeply, fasted often, and listened for the Holy Spirit as if it were part of his daily breath.
He founded Ignite the Fire Ministry, a movement dedicated to raising young Christian leaders, empowering youth in missions, and spreading Jesus’ love across nations. Many describe him as a teacher who could take the hardest biblical truths and make them come alive with clarity and grace.
But beyond his titles —
Husband. Father. Pastor. Counselor. Mentor.
He was the person people trusted with their brokenness,
and he always met them with compassion and wisdom.
Serena, following in her father’s footsteps, was known for her tender heart and deep empathy.
She served with joy.
She loved people fiercely.
And she dedicated her young life to helping the vulnerable.
Their final moments were spent doing what defined them:
serving others.
Alexander leaves behind his wife Candace and their children, James (17) and Christiana (20) — along with countless spiritual sons and daughters across the Caribbean and beyond.
May their legacy of love, generosity, and faith continue to shine like a flame that never goes out.
