CHRISTIAN BREAKING NEWS: Pakistani Christian Girl’s Forced Marriage Annulled, Victory for Religious Freedom [#ShahidaBibi]

Shahida Bibi is now free to return home to her father and her Christian faith after a Pakistani court overturned her forced conversion and marriage to her stepfather’s brother.

Bibi was 11 years old when her mother eloped with a Muslim guy, who later “gave” her to his brother.

Bibi went on to have 2 children, and the brother entered into an Islamic Nikah, or marital union, with her when she became 18, in order to avoid prosecution under the anti-child marriage law.

In February 2025, a civil court in Bahawalpur, Pakistan, issued a decree in Bibi’s favor, ordering that her forced marriage be dissolved on all identifying documents.

Bibi received new documents that appropriately identify her religion as Christianity.
