CHRISTIAN BREAKING NEWS: What Happened to Widow of Christian Beaten to Death in Pakistan? | False Blasphemy Accusation | Dies of Cardiac Arrest, Could No Longer Handle the Pain
Allah Rakhi Bibi cried every day for her husband Nazeer Masih Gill, who was beaten to death at the age of 74 by a Muslim mob on a false blasphemy accusation a month ago.
According to relatives, the devastated widow died of cardiac death on Friday (June 21), after she could no longer handle the pain. She was 72.
Her son, Sultan Gill, told Christian Daily International-Morning Star News that his mother has been thinking and talking about his father since his death on June 3 from injuries sustained in the May 25 attack.
On Friday (June 21), the grieving widow could bear the suffering no longer, and she died of cardiac arrest, relatives said. She was 72.
Gill stated that his mother questioned why such a tragedy had to occur in their family.
Gill stated that on Friday afternoon, Bibi began complaining of chest pain.
The paramedics gave her some medication and then left.
Gill stated that his mother was buried next to that of her husband.
On June 13, Special Judge Muhammad Abbas of the Sargodha Anti-Terrorism Court granted bail to the accused, 3 of whom were identified in the First Information Report (FIR).
The Urban Area Police Station filed a FIR on behalf of the state against 44 named and 300 to 400 unnamed persons.
The case was filed under several sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) 1997 and the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), including murder, attempted murder, obstructing public officials from performing their duties, assaulting a public official, and mischief by fire or explosive material with the intent to destroy a house or cause death or hurt.
Abbas accepted the suspects’ pleas, which stated that police had implicated them in the case solely on suspicion.
They said that officers failed to describe their roles in the attack, and none of the 18 witnesses could identify them.
The judge accepted the applications and ordered the defendants to be released on bail with surety bonds of 100,000 rupees (US$360) each.
Attorney Asad Jamal said he regretted the suspects’ release but had expected it due to the police’s “intentional” poor investigation.
The Muslim lawyer, who has represented several people falsely accused of blasphemy, including Christians, was part of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan’s (HRCP) fact-finding mission that described Gill’s lynching as a “calculated assault, manipulated through religious fervor to gain maximum leverage.”
Jamal stated unequivocally that police had purposefully recorded false witness statements in damage to undermine the case.
