CHRISTIAN BREAKING NEWS: American University, Washington, DC Sign, Sidewalks Spray Painted with Pro-Palestinian Graffiti
American University’s main gate, signs, and sidewalks were spray-painted with pro-Palestinian messagesovernight, the university announced Thursday.
The word “genocide” was sprayed in red over the word “American” on the American University sign facing Massachusetts Avenue.
Other messages such as “Free Palestine” and “Divest Now” were spotted on signs and sidewalks along Massachusetts Avenue.
Crews worked Thursday morning to remove spray paint off the signs.
In a message, American University President Jonathan R. Alger stated that the graffiti “violates our policies, laws, and values” and “hurts our community.”
“It creates distrust and discord when we are seeking to build connection and common bonds. Even on the most polarizing of issues on which members of the university community might disagree vigorously, engagement must be constructive and lawful.”

American University is investigating for other entrances to see if they have been vandalized, and police are reviewing video footage.
“We are investigating the graffiti on AU’s Glover Gate. Anyone found responsible for this crime will be held accountable.”
