The dispute arises from the sudden exit of frontman Michael Tait amid serious allegations, which Faith LIVE claims caused ticket sales to fall. The Newsboys claim the promoter’s public statements damaged their credibility, reputation, and career opportunities, resulting in canceled shows like Finland’s Glow Festival and lost radio placements.

Faith LIVE denies any wrongdoing, claiming they acted with integrity to protect fans and the faith community.

Newsboys filed a lawsuit on June 17, 2025, in Alberta, Canada and Tennessee, United States, seeking $5.4 million in damages.

The band’s Canadian tour was canceled after frontman Michael Tait stepped away amid multiple sexual assault allegations and a police investigation in Tennessee. Faith LIVE cited poor ticket sales and a lack of transparency surrounding Tait’s departure.

Newsboys claim Faith LIVE’s statements damaged their credibility and reputation in the Christian music scene, costing them tour dates, including Finland’s Glow Festival—and radio placements. They have denied knowing anything about Tait’s alleged misconduct.

Faith LIVE claims it acted out of integrity, alleging “unethical behavior, broken promises, and lack of transparency” from the band’s side. They reject intimidation, and see the the dispute as a moral issue for the Christian music community.

The lawsuit was filed on June 17, 2025 and the case is ongoing.
