Hi everyone.
Pastor Dr. David Dykes, longtime Senior Pastor and Pastor Emeritus of Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas, has passed away. A deeply respected spiritual leader, Dr. Dykes served Green Acres faithfully for 30 years, leaving behind a powerful legacy of faith, leadership, and service to the Lord.
He was also a prolific author, teacher, and advocate for missions around the world. Join us as we honor his life, ministry, and the lasting impact he made on countless lives within and beyond the church walls.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dr. David Orlo Dykes. Pastor David finished his race surrounded by his family at his home in Tyler, Texas on July 2, 2025.
Pastor David faithfully served as Senior Pastor of Green Acres Baptist Church for 30 years until his retirement in 2021 and actively served as Pastor Emeritus until his passing.
Pastor David was deeply loved by his church family and East Texas community. His passion and dedication to teaching God’s word has impacted countless lives over the years in East Texas and around the world.
We cannot begin to put into words how much Pastor David will be missed. He has left a legacy for this church, this community, and beyond. We know that Jesus has said “Well done, my good and faithful servant” to our beloved Pastor David.
At this time, we ask for prayers and privacy for Cindy and the Dykes family.
