CHRISTIAN BREAKING NEWS: State Department of Education Opens Bids to Purchase 55,000 Bibles for Oklahoma Classrooms [#TrumpBible #GodBlessTheUSABible]
The State Department of Education opened bids on Friday to purchase the 55,000 Bibles that State Superintendent Ryan Walters wants to place in Oklahoma schools.
He also released specific requirements for those Bibles, and the only one we discovered that met them was one proposed by former President Donald Trump.
The requirements stated that the Bibles must be in the King James Version and bound in leather or leather-like material.
They must also include various historical documents, such as the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the United States Bill of Rights.
One of the last things the King James Version of the Bible ever says in Revelations 22:18-19 is, “(18) I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. (19) And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.”
It means you do not add or subtract from the book.
The bid to get Bibles into Oklahoma schools began on Friday morning.
It requests King James Bibles with many specific US documents attached.
When FOX23 looked for Bibles that met those criteria, the only one we could locate was Donald Trump’s ‘God Bless The USA Bible’.
Walters was unavailable to speak on camera, but his office issued a statement.
However, it did not directly answer FOX23’s inquiry.
It stated, in part, that “Superintendent Walters has committed the agency to an open and transparent RFP process, consistent with the norms for state procurement, that will be adequate to meet the needs of Oklahoma classrooms. There are hundreds of Bible publishers and we expect a robust competition for this proposal.”
The Bible endorsed by Trump sells for about $60 each.
Other versions of the Bible that almost fit Walters’ requirements cost between $80 and $100 each, and if any of these are accepted, taxpayers will foot the bill.
A paperback King James Version Bible, with no additional texts, costs between $2 and $5 and is even freely available online.
Last week, the state superintendent reaffirmed his commitment to placing a Bible in each Oklahoma public school classroom.
Despite his request to lawmakers to give him money to buy Bibles next year, a recent posting on a state website soliciting bids suggests he is not waiting.
He is currently using additional Department of Education funds to get started.
They are looking for a contractor to fulfill the order of 55,000 Bibles by October 15 and use $3 million in state funds to do so.
A member of the state school board raised this concern last month.
State Rep. Mark McBride, a Republican from Moore, is concerned that state statutes prohibit the use of taxpayer dollars to purchase these Bibles.
FOX23 also contacted the Office of Enterprise Management Services.
They are the ones who will process bids as they come in.
In a statement, they stated that they want to engage with the Department of Education to separate the proposal for Bibles from the bid for historic materials.
They believe that keeping them separate and proceeding down that route will save the state money.
This summer, the Oklahoma State Supreme Court, with liberal and conservative justices, declared that the local school board, not the State Board of Education, determines what goes in a district’s classrooms and libraries.
Furthermore, it is unclear whether the purchase of Bibles will be challenged in court because the Oklahoma State Constitution prohibits the use of state taxpayer monies for sectarian religious purposes.
All of this is taking place at the same time that Walters is being investigated for mismanaging other Department of Education funds.
An investigation is already ongoing at the State Capitol into why Walters did not spend millions of dollars to prevent school shootings and purchase emergency inhalers for public schools to keep on hand.
If re-elected in fall, former President Donald Trump will require a new secretary of education.
The last one, Betsy Devos, quit, claiming that Trump had crossed a boundary on January 6th.
She is not coming back.
Members of Walters’ own party have told FOX23 in exclusive, unfiltered interviews that he wants to be Trump’s Education Secretary.
Trump has praised him for his Bible-related speech and criticism of public schools, teachers, and unions on Conservative cable news outlets.
However, pastors and many others who have spoken with FOX23 believe that the Bible requirement has been breached by including the Constitution and other texts.
