US President Joe Biden referred to himself as the “first black woman to serve with a black president” as he once again twisted his words, his latest gaffe as he tries to persuade Americans that he is still able to govern.
The 81-year-old president stumbled while being interviewed Thursday on Philadelphia’s WURD black radio station as part of an Independence Day media blitz a week after his train-wreck debate performance.
Biden appeared to make a mistake when he said he was former President Barack Obama’s vice president before selecting Kamala Harris as his own.
“By the way, I’m proud to be, as I said, the first vice president, first black woman, to serve with a black president.”

The stumble, however, was just one of several gaffes and errors made by Biden throughout the interview, which was intended to reassure Americans that his debate debacle was simply one bad night.
At one point, he made the strange assertion that he was the “first president that got elected statewide in the state of Delaware, when I was a kid.”
He also claimed to understand the black struggle for representation, owing to his belief that Catholics could not be president until John F. Kennedy was elected more than 6 decades ago.
Biden made the statement while assuring the presenter that he understood what Jackson’s Supreme Court nomination meant to “a young girl who is in school and having trouble.”

The series of mistakes comes as questions about the president’s age grow, particularly following his disastrous debate with former President Trump last week.
