There are strong indications that a former Regional Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), City of David, Region 20, Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, and his wife, Dr. Siju Iluyomade, have resigned from their positions as pastors of the church.
His resignation came after he refused to serve his 3-month suspension and transfer to another church in Ebute Meta.
A source close to the former senior pastor informed Vanguard that while Iluyomade may have resigned, the governing council has not accepted his resignation.
“Since he is serving a suspension, the resignation has not been accepted by the governing council. The council will not meet until August when the suspension will lapse. The church has an exit procedure for pastors of his calibre.”

Vanguard also learned that an influential group within the Church may be pressurizing Iluyomade to start his ministry.
Vanguard has reliably learned that the Apapa Family is working to ensure that Pastor Iluyomade establishes his ministry.
According to the source, the Apapa Family Group is an RCCG branch that collaborates with governments and other public sector institutions to undertake charity projects in healthcare, education, infrastructure, citizen welfare, and capacity building.
“Whether it is for self-gains and desires just the way they influenced Pastor Ituah Ighodalo to resign from the RCCG and establish their ministries, only God knows.”
It should be noted that Pastor Iluyomade was transferred from RCCG Region 20 following the issue surrounding the celebration of his wife’s birthday when the church was mourning the death of Herbert Wigwe, the former CEO of Access Bank.
