CHRISTIAN BREAKING NEWS: 100,000 Protesters Flood Sydney Harbour Bridge for Gaza | Anti-Israel, Pro-Palestinian “March for Humanity” Stuns Australia [#MarchForHumanity]

Over 100,000 protesters took over the Sydney Harbour Bridge in a massive anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian demonstration demanding a ceasefire in Gaza and justice for Palestine. The “March for Humanity” sent shockwaves across Australia and the world.

Hi everyone,

On August 3, 2025, Australia witnessed one of its largest protests in history as tens of thousands—possibly over 100,000—marched across the Sydney Harbour Bridge in solidarity with the people of Gaza.

Organized by the Palestine Action Group Sydney, the “March for Humanity” called for:

An immediate ceasefire in Gaza
An end to Israel’s military operations
International pressure and sanctions against Israel
Recognition of Palestinian statehood

The event featured major public figures in attendance including Julian Assange, MP Ed Husic, former NSW Premier Bob Carr, and Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi.

Despite last-minute legal hurdles and police objections, the NSW Supreme Court ruled in favor of protest organizers, allowing the bridge to be closed for the march.

The protest remained peaceful, with no arrests or injuries reported.

This could be the largest pro-Palestinian demonstration in Australian history.

On Sunday, August 3, 2025, a historic event dubbed the “March for Humanity” was held across Sydney Harbour Bridge, with estimates ranging from 90,000 to 100,000 participants, with organizers suggesting as many as 300,000 attended.

The protest was approved by the NSW Supreme Court less than 24 hours earlier after police sought a ban citing public safety concerns, which Justice Belinda Rigg rejected.

Organized by the Palestine Action Group Sydney, demonstrators marched from Lang Park, across the closed bridge at 11:30 AM and then toward Bradfield Park on the northern shore.

Major attendees included Julian Assange, former NSW Premier Bob Carr, Labor MP Ed Husic and actor Craig Foster. Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi addressed the crowd demanding harsh sanctions against Israel.

Protesters demanded a ceasefire, an end to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and increased international aid. Many referenced starvation affecting children in Gaza with chants like “Ceasefire Now!” and “Save Gaza.”

Demonstrators symbolically banged pots and pans to represent hunger, and carried placards reading “Enough is enough.”

Critics targeted NSW Premier Chris Minns and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese for perceived inaction, even as foreign nations like France, Canada, and the UK signaled intention to recognize Palestinian statehood.

NSW Police had sought a prohibition order citing significant safety risks, but Justice Rigg ruled the public interest in freedom of expression outweighed them—citing organizer Josh Lees’ extensive experience in protests.

Due to unprecedented turnout and severe weather, organizers directed the crowd to turn back mid‑march to prevent a potential crush. Despite disrupted traffic and major delays, no arrests or injuries were reported.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge was closed from 11:30 AM to 4 PM, train and bus services were rerouted, and commuters faced major delays across Sydney CBD and North Sydney.

The event required over 1,100 police officers, with monitoring costs estimated over Australian $1.4 million, highlighting both security challenges and institutional coordination.

This demonstration marks the first time the Sydney Harbour Bridge has been closed for a protest since the 2023 World Pride march, with around 50,000 participants.

The turnout reveals growing public dissatisfaction with Australia’s political stance on Gaza, increasing pressure to recognize Palestinian statehood and ending support for Israeli military action.
