According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Highway 25 West in Trousdale County has been closed due to a collision between a church bus carrying children and a tractor-trailer transporting cattle.

THP told WSMV4 on the scene that at 5:21 CT on Wednesday, a church bus carrying children collided with a tractor-trailer hauling livestock at the intersection of Hwy. 25 West and Sulphur College Road.

The accident occurred as the church bus came to a stop sign on Sulphur College Road while the tractor-trailer hauling cattle was heading along Highway 25.

According to THP, the church bus moved out onto Highway 25 and into the path of the tractor-trailer.

The tractor-trailer collided with the bus’s right front side, overturned, and came to rest across Highway 25.

The road has been closed since the crash.

According to THP, the church bus had 14 kids and the driver, whereas the tractor-trailer carried only the driver and cattle.

Several individuals, including a kid, were sent to a local hospital, although no serious injuries were reported.

“Everyone involved in the crash is safe and family notifications have been made,” the Texas Highway Patrol stated.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation stated that the church bus has subsequently been cleared.

Crews on the scene are still attempting to move cattle to another trailer.

TDOT said vets were on the scene to assess the cows’ condition.

THP stated that the crash cleaning will take a long time, and there is presently no estimate of when the road will reopen.
