Avigail is in NYC and spent time with President Biden in the White House. She is in the USA with her siblings and her uncle and aunt, Zoli and Liron, who adopted the three of them after their parents were murdered on 7 October.

Of their time in the US, Liron said, “It’s a little family time in this new period, a time to breathe, to get away from everything – and mainly just to be together”.

This week, an emotional video of 4-year-old released hostage Abigail Idan, who was orphaned by Hamas terrorists on October 7, went viral, showing her dancing with her uncle, who adopted her.

The two are shown dancing joyfully together on a balcony against the backdrop of the New York City cityscape.

According to the video, Idan’s aunt and uncle adopted her and her 2 siblings, who also survived the Hamas attacks.

Idan had been held hostage by Hamas for nearly 50 days, while her 2 younger siblings, Amalia, 6, and Michael, 9, survived the carnage and avoided arrest by hiding in a closet next to their mother’s body.

Idan, who holds American citizenship, has become a symbol for the children held hostage by Hamas and recently met with US President Joe Biden last month.

Following the meeting, US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan expressed his thoughts”
“There are still Americans and others being held hostage by Hamas, and we’re working day in and day out to ensure all of them also are able to get safely home to their loved ones.”

The video of Idan dancing with her uncle concludes with the words “Am Yisrael Chai” (the Nation of Israel Lives).
