On Friday evening, the Israeli Air Force launched large targeted airstrikes in the Lebanese city of Beirut, claiming to have hit Hezbollah’s main headquarters.
The bombing jolted the Lebanese capital, sending dense clouds of smoke above it.
There were reports of numerous casualties from the multiple strikes.
Minutes after the strike, IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari issued an on-camera statement emphasizing its unusual nature.
According to Hagari, the main command center was established beneath civilian buildings in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district, a well-known Hezbollah stronghold.
He did not say whether Nasrallah was a target or thought to be present at the site.
Footage from Beirut revealed considerable wreckage at the site.
He stated that there are currently no changes to guidelines for Israeli civilians.
In recent weeks, Israel has eliminated many of Hezbollah’s top officials.
Leading Israeli news networks said that Nasrallah was the target of the strikes, which involved bombs weighing tens of tons of explosives.
