In April of this year, an Aventura child nearly drowned.
8 months later, she remains in a coma, fighting for her life.
This holiday season, the family is asking for the gift of giving through prayer for little Heleni Ezra, who is now 2 years old.
Her father, Shlomi, showed NBC6 a video in which she is seen dancing with her sisters.
The footage was captured just moments before her father discovered her in their backyard pool, where she had been fighting the water for 3 minutes.
Shlomi and mother Hana Ezra administered CPR on their daughter before taking her to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Hollywood, FL.
However, she is still alive after around 250 days.
Heleni has spent more than 100 days at home, receiving round-the-clock care.
Heleni’s mother, Hana, said that she is still in a coma.
Heleni, however, appears to be alive in several videos made by her parents, as she moves her hands and arms.
“And I know, by fact, that it’s because of all the prayers, the people supporting us and praying for us, she’s here against all odds. She’s here.”

The Ezra family stated that they are not giving up hope and will be asking for a gift throughout the holiday season.
“Keep her in your prayer. If it was your own daughter, what would you do? I’m sure that every person would do anything possible to save his daughter. So, all I am asking is for people to keep her in their prayers, to pray for Heleni to wake up in full recovery.”

The family keeps their faith and positive outlook, knowing that their toddler is holding on to their strength and the prayers of strangers.
