The White House was pressed on Tuesday about who the Pentagon would notify if a nuclear missile was fired at the United States after 8 PM ET, when President Biden has stated that he must call it a day.

According to The New York Times, Biden informed Democratic governors this week in a secret meeting at the White House that he would stop scheduling events after 8 PM ET in order to get more sleep.

At a press briefing on Tuesday, Fox News’ Peter Doocy questioned White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about the president’s mental health and being at his sharpest before 8 PM.

“Well, he also says he’s sharpest before 8 PM So, say that the Pentagon at some point picks up an incoming nuke. It’s 11 PM. Who do you call? The first lady?”

Jean-Pierre informed Doocy that the president has a team that will notify him of any “pertinent and important” news to the American people.

She also stated that Biden has appointed someone to obtain information from the National Security Council in the event that such a situation occurs.

Who is that person? Jean-Pierre did not say.

Biden’s dismal performance in the late June presidential debate against former President Donald Trump fueled long-standing concerns about his age and fitness for office.

Biden is under increasing pressure to withdraw from the 2024 race.
