The accident occurred on the Rishikesh-Badrinath route, near Raitoli in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, India.
Officials said at least 10 people were killed after a tempo traveler carrying 23 passengers crashed down a gorge in Uttarakhand on Saturday.
According to officials, the minibus plunged into the Alaknanda River, and personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the police are currently conducting rescue operations.
According to accounts, the accident injured people who were standing on the roadside.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami described the tragedy as “very sad news” and ordered the district magistrate to investigate.
Officials said that injured people are currently being evacuated to All India Institute of Medical Sciences Rishikesh (AIIMS Rishikesh), Uttarakhand, India.
