Stunning new data just dropped — and it’s shaking the church.

According to Barna’s brand-new 2025 survey, more young women are disconnecting from Christianity than ever before.
Among U.S. women aged 18 to 24, 38 percent now identify as religiously unaffiliated — that’s higher than Gen Z men in the same age range.
Even teen girls are drifting: 28 percent say they have no faith, compared to just 22 percent of teen boys.
The decline isn’t just belief — it’s practice.
Only about 58 percent of Gen Z women say they’ve prayed in the past week.
Just 31 percent opened their Bible, and
Fewer than one in three attended church recently.
Barna’s researchers say the deeper problem isn’t rebellion — it’s disconnection.
Many young women feel misunderstood by older generations, unsupported by church communities, and overwhelmed by cultural pressures that question their faith, purpose, and identity.
The report urges churches to move beyond programs and build relationships — spaces where young women feel seen, mentored, and genuinely known.
Because for many, faith isn’t being lost… it’s being forgotten in the noise of a world that’s louder than ever.
Now we want to hear from you.
Do you believe the Church today truly understands what Gen Z women are facing?
