At 6:18pm today Miles was officially declared brain dead.
He will be an organ donor. We were told that he could save up to eight lives through the organ donation, and we are confident this is what his parents would have wanted.
Family and friends from both sides of the family want to thank everyone for their prayers, thoughts, and tears through this traumatic time.
Tyler, Susie and Miles were loved beyond what can be expressed in words, and they will be missed tremendously.

Tuesday night’s championship games began on a somber note at Lions Field, with 100+ people gathered to pray for the Campbell family.
The family was driving south on New Rand Road in a dark blue Mazda CX5 Select when Jordan Alexander Porter, 25, of Garner, hit them after running a red signal.
Porter was charged with driving while impaired (DWI).
Tyler and Susan Campbell died at the scene. Their 8-year-old son Miles was not expected to survive after being admitted in critical condition.
“We’re just doing all we can to wrap our hearts and our thoughts around Miles and his family and do whatever we can to help support them,” Garner Baseball Inc. president Brice Owens said.
GBI organized a vigil early Tuesday evening, during which scores of relatives shed tears remembering Tyler and Susan Campbell, even as Miles fought for his life at WakeMed, joined by several extended family members.
A family member told ABC11 that Miles was declared brain dead at 6:18 PM ET on Tuesday.
According to his relatives, he will be an organ donor.
According to Garner Police, Miles has been declared dead.
Miles had just ended his first season in the Pinto League when he received the team’s “Sportsmanship Award,” which he deserved, according to assistant coach Cutler Harris.
“He was, he was kind. He was always upbeat. He was always encouraging. Even when things went poorly … he was still smiling. It’s just a true testament to who he was as a kid.”

He added that Miles was a good friend to his 7-year-old son, Cooper, who is dealing with the loss.
“He just began breaking down in tears as he said, Dad, Miles was one of my best friends. The first thing that I look to in situations like this is hope, and I know we have hope in Christ. That was the one thing that I was able to translate to my son is, hey, I know this is terrible. I know you’re sad for your friend but recognizing that there’s hope.”
