A major search continues today for missing Jenny Hall.
Specialized sniffer dogs are being used in the area around Jenny’s last known location where her car was parked, on the B6278 between Stanhope and Eggleston.
The search today is concentrating on running trails Jenny frequently uses between Eggleston and Hamsterley.
Specifically-trained police teams also continue to cover ground with several expert mountain rescue search teams and air support despite the challenging weather conditions and terrain.
Together more than 100 miles of track have already been covered in the Teesdale area alone with help from the Rurali community and local landowners but officers are still appealing for any information that could help locate the 23-year-old.
Behind the scenes, digital intelligence officers have conducted extensive inquiries into Jenny’s mobile phone, smart watch and running apps but none have yielded any results unfortunately.
Jenny is described as white, 6ft tall and has very long dark hair. Her family have now confirmed she may have also been carrying a green jacket and had her hair up in a ponytail.
🗣Chief Inspector Dean Haythornthwaite, of Durham Constabulary, said: “We have become increasingly concerned for Jenny since she was reported missing on Tuesday and have been exploring all lines of inquiry, including dozens from members of the public.
“We are focusing our search on areas we know Jenny likes to run through and we are determined to do everything we can to find her.
“I would like to thank everyone who is working around-the-clock in our search and efforts to reunite Jenny with her family.”

⚠️We are renewing our appeal for information to help find missing Jenny Hall who has not been heard from since leaving her home in Tow Law just after 3pm on Tuesday (February 18).
Officers located Jenny’s red Ford Focus which had been found parked on the B6278, between Eggleston and Stanhope yesterday.
An extensive search is taking place in the area, using specially-trained police teams and expert mountain rescue search teams, backed with air support, including HM Coastguard.
Jenny is a keen long-distance runner and police are additionally carrying out a wider search in the Teesdale area.
Police are also grateful for assistance from the Rurali community group, who are assisting in the search for the 23-year-old.
We would like to thank the public for their continuing support in the search. Anyone who believes they may have seen Jenny or has any relevant information about her whereabouts is asked to contact police immediately on 999.

A dedicated Family Liaison Officer is also working with Jenny’s family.

Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for the 23-year-old who was reported missing just after 9pm last night.
She was last seen leaving her home in Barracks Farm, Tow Law, in her red Ford Focus just after 3pm.
Jenny is described as white, 6ft tall and has very long dark hair. She was last seen wearing a blue hoodie with a John Deere logo and dark jogging bottoms.
It is thought Jenny might have headed to the Barnard Castle area.
