A New Hanover County pastor is facing more child sex crime charges.
In July, 54-year-old Jonathan Ballard was charged with 14 counts of indecent liberties with a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor.
Jonathan Ballard is the pastor of the Church of the Living God (COLG), previously known as Straightway Ministries.
According to jail records at the Brunswick County Detention Center, Bolivia, NC, Ballard was arrested again on Friday and charged with 2 charges of statutory rape and 2 counts of indecent liberties with a minor.
The judge granted Ballard a $100,000 bond, and he appeared to have bonded out of jail.

Jonathan Ballard is the Bishop of the Church of the Living God Association and Senior Pastor of the COLG, Leland and Whiteville campus. He is also a speaker and teacher of Apocalyptic Theology with emphasis on “End Times” or (Revelation).

He has been in full time ministry for over 24 years and has preached the message of Jesus Christ to thousands of people through his television programs, churches and foreign missions. Bishop Ballard started in ministry in 1991 under his mother and founder Pastor/Evangelist Helen E. Ballard. He was her drummer within the music department. In 1994 he was called into ministry to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and God began to use him tremendously. In 1996 due to his mother failing health he was tasked with the responsibility of the church. In August of 1996 he became the Senior Pastor of the church. Soon after, he began to expand the ministry by forming different churches and organizations in various locations. In 2006, Bishop and a group of Pastors formed the Church of the Living God Association and named him the Presiding Bishop over the Association.
