A 13-year-old kid from Tennessee is being remembered as a “bright light” after being killed in a car accident while returning from Dollywood, TN with his church group.

Police are investigating a crash that killed 13-year-old Aidan Linville as he and his church group returned from a day at Dollywood, according to WVLT.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said that the crash occurred on Sunday in Crossville, TN.

On Saturday, Aidan drove with a group from his Sparta church to Pigeon Forge to visit Dollywood.

A serious car crash occurred shortly after the group’s departure for home.

According to Aidan’s family, first responders and professionals from 2 hospitals attempted to save the 13-year-old, but his injuries were too serious.

He died at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

According to family friends, Aidan was so delighted to be at Dollywood that he rode every ride in the park and even had blisters on his feet from trying to make the most of the “epic day.”

Tyler Brandes, the leader of Boy Scout Troop 128 in Sparta, where Aidan had been a member for several years, characterized him as an energetic, rowdy teenager who enjoyed Marvel movies and spending time with his friends.

He went on to say that even at a young age, Aidan was always willing to go above and beyond for others, as evidenced by how he interacted with his family.

“His dad is a single father; his dad is an amputee who lost his arm in an industrial accident, actually, so he was always helping his dad with things.”

– Tyler Brandes

Aidan had just started 8th grade at White County Middle School in Sparta, TN.

According to family and friends, he was very active in his church.

The family is requesting privacy, understanding, and prayers as they mourn.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to help Aidan’s family with medical expenditures, funeral arrangements, and other costs.

More information on the crash has not been released.
