A Grapevine pastor and instructor was arrested Friday for possessing child pornography, according to police.

The suspect, Arturo Alarcon, 38, was an associate pastor of 121 Community Church.

He also worked as a substitute teacher in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD and volunteered for the Grapevine Community Outreach Center’s after-school program.

Grapevine PD said the investigation began after a missionary couple discovered hidden cameras in a church-owned mobile home used to house visiting families.

During the investigation, officers discovered a picture of child pornography on Alarcon’s cell phone.

A police spokesperson stated that one of the cameras was designed to resemble a clock. Another one resembled a bug zapper.

During the investigation, police said they discovered an image of child pornography on Alarcon’s cell phone.

They claim that the image was not captured by the hidden cameras and had nothing to do with them.

However, Alarcon was prosecuted in both cases and arrested for possessing child pornography and invasive visual recording.

Alarcon is not unknown to Grapevine Police.

At least twice, the department has acknowledged him for his community work.

In 2023, he received a Latino Service Award, describing him as a “beacon of servant leadership.”

Police said they don’t have any evidence of more crimes at this time, but they are investigating various electronic devices found in Alacron’s possession.

The church removed Alarcon’s biography off its website.
