Shimana’s brother, Ejaz Bin Ali, told The Daily Star today (June 2):
“My sister’s condition is worsening by the day. We’re going to run a CT scan today. Doctors have put her on life support as a last resort due to her respiratory difficulties. Please pray for her recovery.”

Shimana was initially admitted to the National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh but her condition worsened, necessitating her transfer to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), Dhaka, Bangladesh last Wednesday (May 29).

Meanwhile, Shimana’s 8-year-old son, Akaid Sazzad Shreshtho, is struggling to understand his mother’s situation.

Seeing his mother lying motionless, he repeatedly asks heartbreaking questions: “Why won’t she open her eyes? Why isn’t she talking? When can I sleep on her chest again?”

His cries of misery are heartbreaking for the family, who is desperately praying for Shimana’s recovery.

Shimana has 2 children: 8-year-old Shreshtho and 3-year-old Sworgo.

The family’s hopes are hanging by a thread, with doctors indicating that only a miracle might improve her condition at this stage.

Shimana became ill unexpectedly on the night of May 21, according to family members.

She was brought to a private hospital in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, Bangladesh around 11:30 PM Bangladesh Standard Time when it was discovered that she had suffered a brain hemorrhage.

The next day, she was sent to another hospital in Dhanmondi for better treatment.

She was eventually admitted to the National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital in the capital’s Agargaon, as advised by doctors.

She remained there for many days before having brain surgery on May 27.

Last Wednesday, she was sent to BSMMU for further treatment.

The family remains by Shimana’s side, holding onto hope and praying for a miracle.

Shimana’s career in the entertainment industry began in 2006, when she gained recognition through the Lux-Channel i Superstar competition.

She has since appeared in numerous television shows, advertisements, and movies.
