Hi everyone,
We honor the life and legacy of Dr. David O. Dykes, beloved former Senior Pastor and Pastor Emeritus of Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas.
Dr. Dykes faithfully served the church from 1991 until his retirement in 2021, and he continued to shepherd and inspire as Pastor Emeritus until his passing on July 2, 2025, at the age of 72.
The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at 1 PM Central Time at Green Acres Baptist Church Worship Center, 1607 Troup Highway, Tyler, Texas 75701 to celebrate his remarkable ministry, global missions leadership, biblical teaching, and deep love for the people of East Texas and beyond.
Dr. Dykes memorial service will be streamed live on the Green Acres Baptist Church website at live.gabc.org at 1 PM Central time on Wednesday, July 9, 2025.
Friends, family, church leaders, and civic figures are expected to reflect on the life of a man dubbed a “pastor of pastors.”
