Send up a prayer for the first responders and parishioners of the Methodist Church in downtown Centerville. Praying they can save this historic building and restore it for the families that have attended church there for generations.

Centerville United Methodist Church, Centerville, TN caught fire on Monday afternoon.

At 2:55 PM CT, Hickman County sent an emergency message reporting that College Avenue and Huddleston Street were closed due to a fire.

The message also stated that various agencies were on the scene.

The official Facebook page for Centerville United Methodist Church, located in that area of downtown Centerville, posted a photo of what appeared to be firefighters responding to a fire at the church.

State Representative Jody Barrett also shared what seemed to be photographs of the fire, urging followers to “send up a prayer for the first responders and parishioners” in the region.
