WATCH: Noa Argamani, a former hostage of Hamas in Gaza who was rescued by the IDF in June 2024, shares her harrowing experiences and the horrific conditions she endured while in captivity.
Rescued Israeli hostage Noa Argamani recounts that she was severely injured during captivity by an Israeli airstrike and had no medical care from her captors.
“An Israeli Air Force missile hit the building” where I was being held prisoner, Argamani tells a gathering of former hostages and captives’ families at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem.
“I was left wounded, I was left bruised, I was bleeding with my whole head split open, and nobody came to rescue me, not the Red Cross, not the medics, nobody,” she recounts.
When she returned to Israel after being rescued by IDF troops in June, “the doctors saw all my wounds and said it was a medical miracle.”
“There are 100 hostages still there, and it could be that their fate is worse than mine,” she says.
President Isaac Herzog convenes a meeting at his residence to commemorate International Human Rights Day, with an emphasis on the “dire situation and deep concern for the hostages’ well-being,” according to his office.
“This morning, I spoke with a leader in our region, and I can confirm that there is global convergence on prioritizing a hostage deal. The goal is to secure an agreement for their release. We want to see everyone home as quickly as possible, and I call on all parties: Bring them home.”
