URGENT MISSING PERSON ALERT

🙏 40-year-old Gene Adam Doherty has been missing since July 1, 2025, from the Silver Bay area in northern Minnesota. His family is heartbroken and searching for answers.

His sister says: “This is my brother. Hoping he’s found safe.”

▶️ Gene’s car — a blue 2009 Ford Edge (MN plate SHS-838) — was found near Brule Lake Road in remote Cook County, but he remains missing.

🚨 Authorities believe he may be experiencing a mental health crisis and could be vulnerable in the wilderness.

🔎 Search efforts are ongoing across Cascade, Homer, and Brule Lake areas, led by Lake & Cook County Sheriffs, U.S. Forest Service, and rescue teams.

Missing Person’s Vehicle Located
Grand Marais, MN 07/11/2025 — Gene Adam Doherty was reported missing in Lake County on July 2. His vehicle was located in the vicinity of the Grade and Brule Lake Road today. A search is ongoing for him now by the Cook County Sheriff’s Office and Cook County Search and Rescue. The United States Forest Service and St. Louis County Search and Rescue are assisting.

MISSING PERSON ALERT: The Lake County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a missing man. , age 40, is 6 feet tall, weighs 200 pounds, has green eyes and a shaved head. He was last seen on July 1 when he left his mother’s Silver Bay, Minn., home driving a 2009 dark blue Ford Edge with Minnesota license plate SHS838. Anyone with information on Gene Doherty’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 218-834-8385 or dial 911.
