A Cobb County dad is relieved his daughter has returned home from the hospital after a tree crashed through their Marietta, GA house.
Dangerous storms toppled scores of trees on Sunday morning, and the cleaning is far from complete.
“By the grace of God, by the grace of God,” said father Dedrick Zackery about his and his daughter’s escape from their house. He fell asleep on the couch and awoke to mayhem.
A tree had blocked the bedroom where his 24-year-old daughter was sleeping, so he crawled outdoors.
They rushed to the emergency hospital to be examined out, and thankfully there were no broken bones, just some terrible cuts and bruises for dad and daughter.
The FOX 5 Storm Team reported that all of the damage was caused by a fast-moving storm with hazardous straight-line winds.
During the extreme weather early Sunday, 3 tornadoes touched down in Georgia’s Meriwether, Coweta, and Fayette counties.
Neighbors in Cobb County along Bryant Lane and Corral Drive reported that it seemed like a tornado had ripped through their neighborhood as well.
Now it is up to the families in this community to rebuild.
Crews on the ground claimed it would take months to restore this street to normalcy.
