In Bedford County, a church community is still dealing with the aftermath of a horrific fire and explosion.
Forest Level Baptist Church is in mourning after an explosion destroyed the 151-year-old church.
However, church officials believe this is not the end, and they have already begun preparing the next steps to move on and rebuild.
Marcin Wilson, pastor of Forest Level Baptist Church, feels a tremendous personal loss.
The church, which has stood for over a century, is very important to the little Forest community.
“It’s got a rich heritage, and we thank God for it. We intend to rebuild and refocus and to continue to do what God has purposed for the church.”

The explosion late Monday night caused significant damage to the building.
When firefighters arrived, they found smoke and flames rising from the basement and a big hole in the first floor.
Nobody was inside at the time, and no one was injured.
On Tuesday, fire investigators and volunteers meticulously assessed the damage to the now-condemned structure.
Pastor Wilson stated that the church is seeking for the community’s prayers as it works to move forward.
“Right now, we are just asking for the community to pray for us. Of course, we are early in our planning period. We have a meeting being scheduled today with our leadership team to just plan our way forward. As we learn what our needs are, we will make it known.”

The investigation into the explosion is ongoing.
