According to Home Ministry records, at least 47 people have been killed in monsoon-related disasters such as floods, landslides, and lightning in Nepal in less than a month since the rainy season began.
Dol Prasad Aryal, Minister of Labour, Employment, and Social Security, informed members of the National Assembly on Friday on the casualties caused by the monsoon.
Minister Aryal addressed the upper house of the Federal Parliament about the loss information, speaking on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.
The monsoon season in the Himalayan Nation typically starts on June 13 and ends on September 23.
Last year, it began on June 14, one day after the usual starting date.
