CHRISTIAN BREAKING NEWS: Pakistan Christian Family Goes into Hiding Despite Dismissal of Blasphemy Charges for Posting Bible Verses on Facebook

A court in Pakistan granted bail to a Christian wrongfully accused of blasphemy last month, but he and his family have separated and gone into hiding, according to reports.

According to his counsel, Aneeqa Maria, Haroon Shahzad, 45, was freed from Sargodha District Jail on Nov. 15.

Shahzad was charged with blasphemy on Jun. 30 after posting Bible verses on Facebook that outraged Muslims, forcing hundreds of Christian families to evacuate their homes in Chak 49 Shumaali, near Sargodha in Punjab Province.

Bail was granted by Lahore High Court Judge Ali Baqir Najfi on Nov. 6, but the ruling and his release on Nov. 15 were not made public until now owing to security concerns for his life, according to Maria.
