Monticello Christian Church, Monticello, Indiana will begin a new Saturday service at 6 PM March 9, 2019 and leading it will be a new pastor.
The Saturday service will begin with worship, communion, contemporary Christian music, fellowship and teaching on the book of Acts. Families with children can bring them to enjoy their own service filled with kid’s worship and relevant teaching suited for their age group.
The church on the corner of Gordon and Airport roads in Monticello decided last year that it would hire an associate pastor.
After a national search, the job was offered to Cody Farris, who lived in Tampa, Florida, with his family. The church was looking for someone who would eventually replace the aging Rev. Chris Dodson, who hopes to retire soon. Dodson has led the church since 2000.

Monticello is known as a tourist destination in north-central Indiana and is home to the Indiana Beach amusement park, Lake Shafer, and Lake Freeman.
