A federal judge convicted an Ohio pastor of 2 felony charges for his involvement in the Capitol riot on Monday, saying prosecutors had more than shown he came to D.C. with the intent to stop the certification of the 2020 presidential election.

William Dunfee, 58, of Frazeysburg, Ohio, was arrested in Oct. 2022 on various counts for using a bullhorn to encourage a mob at the United States Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, before breaking through 2 police barricades.

Dunfee is the pastor at New Beginnings Ministries, a church in Warsaw, Ohio.

Dunfee is also a partner in Cross Builders, a construction firm located in Ohio, and was recognized in part because he was wearing a company-branded jacket on Jan. 6.

During a bench trial before U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton on Monday, Dunfee and his counsel agreed on evidence sufficient to convict him of a felony count of civil disruption and a misdemeanor count of entering and remaining in a prohibited place.

Walton also convicted Dunfee on a second felony count of obstructing an official proceeding.

Federal prosecutors showed video footage Monday morning of Dunfee using a bullhorn to stir up a “frenzy” on the east side of the Capitol.

Dunfee led other protestors in “Fight for Trump” shouts and frequently turned his focus to police, demanding that they enable the mob to pass through barricades and onto the steps of the Capitol.

“Give us Trump or give us our house!” Dunfee informed police at one time.

Dunfee ultimately made it to the Capitol’s doors, but he stopped after being pepper sprayed.

But when other rioters came out of the building and informed him that the certification had been stopped, Dunfee said, “Hallelujah!” “Mission accomplished!”

Dunfee’s sentencing date will be postponed until the United States Supreme Court considers an appeal on the obstruction of an official proceeding allegation, which was used in hundreds of Jan. 6 cases.
