A Christian school art teacher was arrested last Friday after reportedly being captured on video mixing a heart-stopping poison into her husband’s smoothie, according to Missouri police.
According to Jefferson City police Lt. David Williams, the man phoned authorities because he suspected that a “unexplained illness” was “an intentional act of poisoning.”
According to the probable cause statement, the man put a camera in the kitchen earlier this month and videotaped his wife preparing a smoothie with a root-like material from a package labeled “lily of the valley.”
Lily of the Valley is a well-known poisonous flower that may be extremely harmful to humans and animals that consume it.
Sarah Elizabeth Scheffer, 37, “admitted to adding items to the victim’s food with the knowledge” that they would bring sickness or maybe death, Williams stated.
The lady, an art teacher at Calvary Lutheran High School, Jefferson City, Missouri had tainted the man’s food with “numerous cardiac glycosides, which slow down the heart and cause irregular heart rhythm” and frequently induce “nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain,” according to the police spokesperson.
She is accused with attempted murder and armed criminal activity.
She has been ordered detained without bail.
