CHRISTIAN BREAKING NEWS: United Nations Security Council to Meet Wed., Jan. 31 after World Court Ruling on Gaza War

The UN Security Council will convene next week to discuss the highest court’s judgment to order Israel to prevent committing genocidal actions against Palestinians in Gaza, the council’s chair has said.

Algeria summoned the conference on Wed. Jan. 31, saying it would give “binding effect to the pronouncement of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the provisional measures imposed on the Israeli occupation.”

The ICJ previously decided 15-2 that South Africa’s arguments that Palestinians deserved protection against genocide had “plausibility”.

However, the court did not impose the action most sought by South Africa and most feared Israel: an immediate, unilateral ceasefire, which would have stifled the war effort and signified that the court thinks genocide is occurring.

The Security Council, which has long been split on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, has only approved to 2 resolutions since the October 7 Hamas assault, which launched the present war after a major killing spree by thousands of Palestinian terrorists that day, murdering 1,200 and kidnapping 253.

In December, the United Nations urged “at-scale” relief delivery to Gaza.

The United States previously vetoed a resolution calling for a cease-fire.
