Dr. O’Neal, a spiritual father to many, faithfully led Mount Canaan for decades, transforming countless lives through his powerful preaching, compassion, and unwavering dedication to God.

Beloved Birmingham Pastor Passes at 76
Dr. Willie B. O’Neal, senior pastor at Mount Canaan Full Gospel Church in Birmingham, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, at the age of 76, the church announced
According to the church’s statement, he “transitioned peacefully from this life into eternal rest.”

A lifelong resident of Brighton, Alabama, Dr. O’Neal led Mount Canaan since around 1986 and was known for his deeply spiritual and compassionate ministry.
Arrangements for his celebration of life are expected to be announced soon.
