Ten Christians were viciously beaten with sticks and fists outside their local church by dozens of extremists, who later vandalised the sacred building and tore Bibles apart.
The latest episode of religious persecution in India took place in Shantipur village, in the state of Chhattisgarh. A mob of suspected Hindu radicals surrounded the Calvary Gospel Ministry Church during Sunday service on January 27, 2019. The violence started shortly after 9:30 AM, while 25 Christian believers were inside the church with Pastor Ajay Ravi.
