CHRISTIAN BREAKING NEWS: CONFIRMED: Eliotte Heinz Found Dead | Viterbo University Mourns Student Lost in Mississippi River [#EliotteHeinz]

Hi everyone,

TRAGIC UPDATE

Eliotte Heinz, a 22-year-old Viterbo University graduate student, has been found dead in the Mississippi River near Brownsville, Minnesota. She was last seen around 3:20 AM on July 20 walking southbound on the 500 block of Front Street South in downtown La Crosse.

A multi-day search effort united her family, friends, university, and community in hopes of a safe return. Unfortunately, that hope has turned to mourning.

The La Crosse Police Department, in coordination with Houston County authorities, confirmed the discovery on Wednesday, July 23, around 10:28 AM. An autopsy is pending to determine the official cause of death.

Viterbo University and the greater La Crosse community are mourning her loss. A memorial service will be held on campus this fall.

Statement from La Crosse Police Chief Shawn Kudron: โ€œThis was not the outcome we had hoped for throughout this search. Our thoughts are with Eliotteโ€™s family, friends, and all those who knew Eliotte.โ€

Viterbo University President Dr. Rick Trietley said: โ€œThere are no words that can ease the pain of losing someone so young, with so much life ahead of her. Our hearts go out to Eliotteโ€™s family. We hold them in our prayers and stand with them in their grief.โ€

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Eliotteโ€™s family, friends, and all who supported the search effort. Our deepest condolences to all affected by this heartbreaking loss.
